Meet Mary Theus

Mary Theus is a Licensed Acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese Medicine with a deep commitment to integrative, patient-centered care.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Guilford College and a Master of Science in Chinese Medicine from Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine. She also completed professional training in massage therapy at The North Carolina School of Massage and Natural Healing, earned a Physical Therapist Assistant degree from South College, and completed her Yoga Teacher Certification at Asheville Yoga Center.

Mary’s background includes advanced training in myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, shiatsu, and acupuncture for orthopedic conditions. Her extensive education in body mechanics and rehabilitative principles informs her integrative approach to care. She specializes in treating neuromuscular injuries, pain management, gastrointestinal disorders, stress-related conditions, and auricular acupuncture for addiction support.

At Five Branches Acupuncture & Massage Therapy, Mary empowers clients to take an active role in their health and well-being. Through thoughtful, compassionate, and comprehensive assessment, she develops individualized treatment plans that address the root causes of imbalance—not just the symptoms. By integrating acupuncture, bodywork principles, nutrition, and lifestyle counseling, each treatment is designed to support and enhance the body’s natural healing abilities.

Outside of her clinical practice, Mary enjoys gardening, horseback riding, and facilitating equine-assisted learning on her farm.
