Meet Mary Theus

Chinese medicine practitioner Mary Theus is a licensed acupuncturist. She is also a massage therapist and physical therapy assistant.

 

Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Guilford College and a Master of Science in Chinese Medicine from Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine. She received Massage Therapy Certification from The North Carolina School of Massage and Natural Healing; a Physical Therapy Assistant degree from South College; and  Yoga Teacher Certification from the Asheville Yoga Center.

 

Mary holds advanced certifications in myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, shiatsu, and acupuncture for orthopedic issues. She specializes in the treatment of neuromuscular injuries, pain management, gastrointestinal issues, stress management, and auricular acupuncture for addiction.

 

At Five Branches Acupuncture & Massage Therapy, Mary Theus mentors clients to take greater self-care. Through comprehensive and compassionate inquiry, she individualizes approaches for the treatment of root causes. Treatment protocols for each patient draw on acupuncture, body work, nutrition, and lifestyle counseling and provide support for the body's natural healing ability. 

 

In her free time Mary loves to garden, ride horses, and provide equine assisted learning on her farm.
